In the Boat Recovery is the culmination of many years of growth process while living in the worlds of the recovery community,  the local congregation, and the para-church organization.    Our founder, Greg Morrell, has 36 years of continuous sobriety coupled with 30 years of ministry.  That ministry is a combination of teaching, pastoral care, leading Celebrate Recovery over a seven year span, shepherding residents at God's Resort (a transitional housing community in Joplin, Missouri), and serving as Certified Peer Support at the local Recovery Outreach Community Center (The ROCC).  Over this time Greg, has amassed thousands of hours of one-on-one counseling, teaching in various settings, leading seminars on recovery, and is in the process of several future publications.
